Duties of this LEAP Job Posting: We are looking for a reliable, compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic individuals. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and eager to learn the Montessori approach through on-the-job training. The successful candidate(s) will work with children aged 3-6 years, supporting their growth through a variety of activities that foster learning, exploration, and creativity.
• Assist the Montessori teacher in preparing and organizing educational materials and keeping a clean, engaging classroom environment.
• Observe and guide children in their exploration of Montessori materials, promoting independence and self-directed learning.
• Prepare activities for crafts and hands-on materials as needed.
• Support children’s daily routines, including snack and lunch times, rest periods, and transitions between activities.
• Facilitate outdoor play and learning activities, encouraging active play, nature exploration, and respect for the environment.
• Engage children in hands-on, sensory, and fine motor activities, aiding in the development of essential early childhood skills.
• Foster a calm, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere where each child feels valued and supported.
• Encourage positive social interactions, helping children learn to express their feelings, resolve conflicts, and work collaboratively.
• Always ensure the safety and well-being of all children by maintaining a safe and supervised environment.
• Follow our Ministry of Education Licensing policies and procedures outlined in our parent handbook and program policy manual.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting: • ECE and EA certification are an asset, however, not a requirement.
• A genuine interest in early childhood education and willingness to learn Montessori methods (no prior Montessori training is needed as on-the-job training will be provided).
• A love for working with young children and a strong sense of patience, empathy, and positivity.
• Ability to support a child-led learning environment, encouraging curiosity and independence.
• A team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
• Physical ability to engage in outdoor activities, including lifting light equipment, sitting on the floor, and supervising children in an active environment.
• Vulnerable Sector Check, and a CPR and First Aid certification. (Cost covered by center)
• Must provide a letter from a medical practitioner/doctor asserting the candidate is in good health in the role of working with young children.
