The Receptionist is a full-time regular administrative position. The Receptionist is responsible for reception of all clients, guests, and the general public who contact the offices of Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services. The Receptionist is the first impression of the agency and as such will provide reception duties professionally, respectfully, and graciously, demonstrating at all times our mission of service to our community. The Receptionist reports to the Resource Manager in all aspects of job function.
- Community College Diploma, or High School Diploma with two years direct experience; although a combination of related education, experience and skills may be considered.
- Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and Regulations, Customary Care and the philosophy of service delivery, First Nation communities, family structure, as well as local customs and traditions;
- Knowledge of the administrative structure and operations of KFS including service delivery, policies, procedures, and office methods;
- Committed to ensure the highest level of confidentiality with a thorough understanding that all matters related to services, clients, staff, and all other agency business must be kept confidential at all times;
- Ability to coordinate all reception services, and to receive clients, caregivers, and other visitors attending the office in a professional, respectful, and gracious manner;
- Ability to direct visitors and incoming phone calls appropriately and provide general non-confidential information;
- Ability to assess urgent matters to ensure appropriate staff are notified promptly;
- Experience with computers and office procedures to include incoming and outgoing mail and faxes, maintaining an inventory of office supplies, filing, and basic word processing;
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a good rapport with internal and external contacts;
- Excellent multi-tasking skills to coordinate all reception services and meet the demands of a fast- paced front desk, telephone, and reception area;
- Must possess a valid Ontario G Driver’s License and be willing to travel;
- Must provide a clear Criminal Records Check and Drivers Abstract; and
- Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset.
