Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:

The Quality Assurance Worker (QAW) is a regular full-time position. The QAW will support the team’s work in areas relating to First Nation mandates, Ontario provincial legislation/regulations and standards. Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance, the duties revolve around providing widespread administrative support relative to quality assurance and the goals of the team and agency encompassing, but not limited to: program delivery, regular program support to the quality assurance team. When needed and QA related, support may be required for other agency teams or employees.

Working Conditions:

The work will be normally performed in a typical interior and office environment located in the offices of AAFS. The position will require the incumbent to sit for long periods of time at a desk. The noise level environment is usually quiet to moderate. Travel to First Nation homes in community and to Dryden upon request.

Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Bachelor of Social Work Degree with minimum of three years direct experience. A combination of related education, experience and skill set may be considered
  • Knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and Regulations, particularly in the application of Customary Care of the First Nation communities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Customary Care and the philosophy of service development and delivery; the communities and family structure, as well as local First Nation customs and traditions
  • Thorough knowledge of the Child Protection Standards in Ontario and the Foster Care-Licensing Manual
  • Strong systems orientation and extensive experience working with a computerized client database
  • Expert knowledge of case management models, procedures and documentation
  • Extensive experience in applying provincial standards as they relate to file requirements and compliance
  • Ability to verify data submitted for input to ensure consistency with standards for the purposes of accurate statistics and for any reports pertaining to funding by the Ministry of Ontario
  • Ability to conducts regular ongoing case file audits and reports findings
  • Ability to ensure the AAFS philosophy, policies, procedures and guidelines, First Nation mandates and provincial legislation, regulations and standards are adhered to and followed accordingly
  • Excellent analytical skills to review data, documents and forms
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and/or verify statistical information and reports
  • Must possess a valid Ontario G Driver’s License, be willing to travel and provide Driver’s Abstract and
  • Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset.
