Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Develop a monthly calendar with scheduled daily programming & activities
  • Conduct daily programming activities and events
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks
  • Provide transportation to clients
  • Deliver items to client’s homes
  • Provide support and advocacy for parents/caregivers
  • Attend meetings and take part in training as required
  • Program planning, development, implementation, data collection and evaluation
  • Clean and disinfect program area, kitchen, office space, toys etc.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent job experience
  • Knowledge of social, cognitive, physical and cultural needs of Indigenous children, ages 0-6 years.
  • Experience in facilitating groups and workshops
  • Knowledge of the Friendship Centre and the various programs provided to the community
  • Working knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions & practices
  • Previous experience working with Aboriginal organizations and community
  • Positive attitude & demonstrated capacity to as a healthy lifestyle role model
  • Ability to speak Ojibway, Cree or Oji-Cree is a definite asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Excellent computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Internet, Excel, etc)
  • Valid driver’s license & access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Current First Aid /CPR certification or able to be certified
