The Administrative Assistant is a full-time contract position with possible extension. This position requires the candidate to perform detail-oriented and time-sensitive tasks, and a need to verify every aspect of a document before filing it into the company’s filing systems. The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Human Resource and Finance departments for Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services.
- Community College Diploma, or minimum Grade 12 Diploma with two years related experience;
- Ability to receive, act on, and archive reports, emails, faxes, letters and other forms of correspondence;
- Ability to scan and upload documents into storage systems;
- Ability to execute administrative duties such as proofreading, editing, invoicing, drafting correspondence, creating presentations and photocopying;
- Ability to organize workload, review and follow-up on financial and human resource related requests or concerns;
- Ability to ensure purchase orders and cheque requisitions are duly approved and adhere to program budgets and finance policies and procedures;
- Extensive experience working with a computerized data base;
- Knowledge of the communities, family structure, as well as the First Nation customs and traditions;
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills;
- Committed to ensure the highest level of confidentiality;
- Must possess a valid Ontario Drivers’ License and be willing to travel;
- Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver’s Abstract; and
- Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset.
