NorthStream Safety & Rehab is currently seeking to hire a casual, part-time registered nurse in Kenora. The successful candidate would be working alongside our lab technician to assist NorthStream with rapid COVID-19 testing, among other types of medical testing in the region. Our ideal candidate is an experienced nurse, able to provide references from previous employers and ready to get started as soon as possible

Wages: $40.00-$50.00 per hour, depending on experience

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Adhering to proper infection, prevention and control guidelines
  • Proper administration of COVID-19 sampling
  • Making sure individuals get their result and informing them of next steps
  • Collaborating with lab technician as often as required
  • Accurately collect and record information from patient as required
  • Creating a calm and positive experience for the clients
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Registered Practical Nurse Diploma
  • Currently registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BLS/CPR Certificate
  • Demonstrated clinical competence with general medicine nursing skills
  • Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic setting/ambulatory care environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team, as well as independently
  • Excellent physical assessment skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Experience working with diverse population groups
  • Prior experience in a COVID Assessment Centre, preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to patient centred care
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and educate patients and families
  • Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria
  • Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all
