The Clinical Information Clerk (CIC) position provides an opportunity for individuals to interact with patients, families, and visitors on a regular basis to build rapport and be the face of Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH). The CIC provides the important function of registering patients and ensuring that they navigate their visit to the hospital in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, the CIC operates the switchboard and provides reception and information to patients and visitors.

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:

Clinical Information Clerk 1

The Clinical Information Clerk 1 plays a key role in providing a welcoming experience for patients and visitors attending the hospital. Responsibilities also include guiding visitors to the appropriate rooms, directing patients attending other departments to the correct location, and ensuring the smooth check- in and registration of all scheduled visits. Moreover, the role entails reaching out to patients for appointment reminders when necessary and offering reception and information services to patients, visitors, and staff as required.

Clinical Information Clerk 2

Are you passionate about meeting new people and delivering outstanding customer service? The Clinical Information Clerk 2 role offers a unique opportunity to engage regularly with patients, families, and visitors, serving as the welcoming face of Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH). In this position, you will not only build meaningful rapport but also play a crucial role in registering patients, ensuring their safe and efficient navigation through their hospital visits.

Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:

Clinical Information Clerk 1:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have Medical Terminology Certificate, or be willing to complete training
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in working with an IT based switchboard
  • Experience with reception, office procedures and filing
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent keyboarding skills; minimum 35 wpm
  • Ability to multi-task; versatile in changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Excellent understanding of, and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, as well as bend, lift, push and pull
  • Reliable attendance record

Clinical Information Clerk 2:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
