Washagamis Bay First Nation is currently accepting applications a school maintenance worker. This position will be based out of the community of Washagamis Bay First Nation. The individual will be responsible for cleaning, vacuuming, and sanitizing washrooms and floors. The individual will also be responsible for dusting, emptying garbage and other duties related to maintenance services. Maintenance services such as moving furniture, painting, grass cutting, and snow removal will also be required. More specific building maintenance and repairs will be assigned as needed and based on the person’s specific qualifications. This is a year-round position.
- High School Education preferred
- Knowledge of Health and Safety of janitorial products for use and storage
- A maintenance trade would be an asset
- Two years direct experience as a maintenance worker would be an asset
- Must be energetic and possess outgoing personality, compassionate, and patient
- Must be self-motivated and active-minded
- Must have superior oral communication and written communication skills.
- Must be able to multi-task in fast-paced setting
- Must possess excellent planning and organizational skills
- Cultural sensitivity to the Anishinaabe Culture and Language is a must
- A cleared criminal record check and vulnerable sector check is required ongoingly.
- Must possess valid driver’s license
