The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management of the Kenora Chiefs Advisory mandated services and programs. The Executive Director is accountable to the Board of Directors through the Executive Committee of the Kenora Chiefs Advisory.

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Oversee all aspects of the administration operations including planning, organizing, directing and controlling the administration and financial management
  • Network, building effective relationships, and communicate appropriately representing KCA at meetings and other gatherings
  • Liaise with and work with government officials on funding and policy development issues
  • Conduct and implement strategic planning within a political environment with competence in the use and application of governance tools, plans and policies
  • Works with senior leadership across all programs/portfolios to lead the development and implementation of innovation and change initiatives
  • Provides oversight to the development and strategy management processes
  • Responsible for all aspects of the budget, including finance
  • Keep current on best practices and compliance requirements while instilling a strong culture of data integrity and privacy amongst staff and partners
  • Coordinate, direct, manage and supervise all human resources responsibilities
  • Other duties as required by the Chair, the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors

  • Proven ability to network and build positive relationships both internally and externally to advance KCA’s objectives, while promoting its mission, policies and interests
  • Familiar with Federal and Provincial programs and services in health systems, social and addictions and strong understanding of service delivery models and emerging issues and priorities
  • Sound understanding of how the innovative use of technology can enhance healthcare, leveraging knowledge management principles, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated successful human resources, managerial and financial management experience
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to collaborate as a team member and leader
  • Demonstrated professionalism, judgement, diplomacy, ability to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively and persistently

Education and/or Experience

  • University degree/college diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution (health sciences, political science or business degree preferred)
  • 5+ years successful operations and organizational management experience
  • Experience working in First Nations organizations in the area of health, social and mental health
  • Previous experience of the Anishinaabe of Treaty #3 Culture and Customs
