The Ne-Chee Friendship Centre is looking for a motivated individual who has a strong work ethic, teachable skills and positive attitude to join our team.

The Ne-Chee Friendship Centre is looking for a Full Time Program Coordinator. We are an urban Indigenous organization that is governed by a community-based Board of Directors; program supervision is by the Executive Director with objectives set by program funding.

The Indigenous Children’s Wellness Coordinator provides children (ages 7 – 14 years), who have experienced forms of violence. The program objective is to provide a reconnection to the cultural resources, education, knowledge and personal support to return to optimal levels of understanding, reasoning and functioning.

Wages: Salary Range: $46,000 - $48,000 to start

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social, Health or Human services; or relevant accredited
    training combined with related work experience
  • Key knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history; with an emphasis of
    family violence, child welfare, the impacts of trauma, Indigenous youth engagement and community outreach
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient office skills and knowledge for the position; MS Office, Organizational skills, Multitasking, with excellent time management skills
  • Able to speak Ojibway or Oji-Cree is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; First Aid/CPR training a definite asset
  • Positive attitude & capacity to act as a healthy lifestyle role model
  • Vulnerable Persons Check will be required upon offer of employment
