The Mental Wellness Worker is responsible for providing culturally sensitive mental health and addiction services tailored to Animakee Wa Zhing #37. This role focuses on supporting individuals and families dealing with problematic substance use and mental health challenges, promoting wholistic wellness, and fostering resilience through a culturally- and trauma-informed approach.

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:

• Provide case management and supportive, brief counselling to individuals and families, focusing on coping strategies, goal setting and emotional support
• Develop, monitors and updates personalized treatment plans; coordinates with other healthcare providers and social services to ensure wholistic care
• Offer immediate support during mental health crisis, providing direct support to ensure client safety and stabilization
• Engage with community members living in both Regina Bay and Windigo Island to raise awareness about mental health and addition issues; facilitate workshops and programs to education on prevention and wellness
• Maintain client records, progress reports and case notes in compliance with confidentiality and program standards
• Acts as liaison to support clients’ access to resources, advocating for their rights and needs with healthcare and social systems
• Assist other health programs with community events and gathers
• Other duties as assigned by the Health Director

Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:

• Grade 12 and/or GED essential;
• Secondary School Diploma an asset;
• 1-3 years’ experience in an administrative role an asset;
• Strong knowledge of office procedures and practices an asset;
• Keen attention to details;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) an asset;
• Resourceful and flexible; and
• Proven organizational and time management skills.
