Millwright will conduct regular inspections of the workplace for preventative maintenance purposes, record and report tasks completed, and troubleshoot and solve problems in all machinery, equipment, and systems assigned. They must interpret blue prints and plans, attend meetings, and complete requisitions for parts and supplies. A Journeyman Millwright will be required to train Millwright apprentices and monitor their progress. They will be responsible and accountable for all work performed or tasks requested of him or her by the Maintenance Supervisor. A Millwright will supply a minimum of hand tools as per tool list, and a tool list will be put on file for replacement and insurance purposes. A Millwright must have the skills to use oxygen and acetylene torches, and weld with gas and electric arc welding equipment. These abilities will be used for fabrication or repairs as required.
A Millwright will apply technical skills to perform a variety of tasks related to the dismantling, moving, installing, repairing, and maintaining of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components, as well as mechanical machinery, mobile equipment, buildings and facilities in accordance with the standards of Journeyman Millwright. They must follow the instructions and objectives of the Maintenance Supervisor, comply with manufacturer specification standards and regulations of jurisdictional agencies, and company procedures in the performance of all assigned tasks.
