Position Description:

The Quality Improvement/Data Support Specialist will provide support to the KCA Management and Executive Teams through the implementation of data quality initiatives, improving the flow and use of information, and developing queries and analytical products to assist in quality improvement goals. In addition, this position will facilitate collaboration between teams to allow sharing of strategies and opportunities to improve data collection and analysis and to expand quality and data initiatives. This position will provide KCA teams with organizational tools, resources, and knowledge mobilization to address and meet the needs and enhance the well-being and capacity of community members in the KCA affiliated First Nations.

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Support communities, leadership, and other stakeholders in the assessment of quality improvement and data support needs.
  • Serve communities as a subject matter expert in data integrity and leads the analysis of data quality issues.
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams engaged in quality improvement to identify performance measurement information and data quality needs.
  • Ensure high quality data is available as needed by developing and implementing systems to identify, track, correct and prevent errors.
  • Design, test and deploy tools and processes for managing performance data.
  • Develop data feedback reports and data checking routines.
  • Identify gaps in data availability and define and implement solutions to close the gaps.
  • Provide consultative and analytical support regarding the collection, interpretation, analysis, and presentation of data to help teams ensure best practice standards.
  • Conduct analysis and develop reports using statistical reporting packages.
  • Plan and participate in stakeholder engagement processes, partnerships, and collaboration.
  • Manage data quality, business process improvement, data extraction, report development and other projects using effective project management practices.
  • Contribute actively to local, provincial, and federal standards development and data harmonization activities.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • A post-secondary degree in a related discipline (Business Administration, Statistics, Health Sciences or Information Management) or equivalent education and proven experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the use of data for quality improvement
  • Knowledge of performance improvement techniques and practices used in process redesign and system implementation experience
  • Experience designing and delivery of public engagement processes and strategy utilizing best practices for effective stakeholder partnership and relationship building
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis and report writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Knowledge of the Anishinaabe culture and language and experience in working in First Nation communities
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Must be willing to travel when required
