Bayshore is in search of a dedicated and supportive individual to join our our team in the role of Rehab Assistant. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of the treatment program as prescribed by the applicable regulated health care practitioner. You will support adult and/or pediatric clients to help them achieve their maximum potential. Key responsibilities include carrying out the prescribed treatment program as directed and taught, documenting clients’ progress, and reporting outcomes to the applicable regulated health care provider. Duties of this LEAP Job Posting: Depending on work assignment, may include some or all of the following:
- Empower Clients: Implement personalized rehabilitation programs in collaboration with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Speech and Language Pathologists.
- Foster Independence: Promote maximum independence for clients at home, in the community, and at work to support their re-integration.
- Lead Exercise Programs: Conduct engaging exercise programs and group exercise classes.
- Support Behavioral Health: Implement effective behavioral interventions tailored to each client’s needs.
- Enhance Daily Living: Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living, along with social, educational, and vocational re-integration plans.
- Boost Cognitive Skills: Implement cognitive therapy programs to enhance clients’ cognitive abilities.
- Encourage Leisure: Promote and organize enjoyable leisure activities for clients.
- Collaborate with Teams: Attend case conferences and team meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide Transportation: Drive clients safely as needed (with valid insurance coverage).
- Ensure Safety: Understand and implement infection prevention practices to maintain a safe environment.
- Commit to Learning: Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities.
- Adapt to Needs: Complete additional tasks as requested to support client care.
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting: Education
- Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant College Program.
- Will also consider a university degree in kinesiology and/or the possession of a RRP or CCRC designation.

- Enjoy dealing with people and working in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent manner.
- Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team.
- Ability to be self-directed and take direction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with secure email. Commitment to continual learning.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
