Women’s Place Kenora is a resource centre empowering all women working within a feminist perspective. We provide peer/group counselling, workshops, referrals, pre-employment and entrepreneurship training, farmer’s market opportunities, community kitchens, lending library, community gardens, free-cycle room, and public awareness events.

Resource Library Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director at the centre. A friendly and outgoing personality will relish in this very creative position. Our Resource Library is a wonderful opportunity for learning about the challenges women face in our community and trying to find resourceful ways of getting major needs met. The Resource Library Coordinator will understand and contribute to helping women overcome barriers while updating and organizing our library.

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:

Creating a searchable library database
Locate library materials for patrons
Maintenance & care of library books
Process new materials; books and computer software
Attendance at Farmer’s Market
Sort books and return them to shelves
Instruct clients on how to use reference sources
Assist with WPK workshops

Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:

Open to students between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Students must have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
Current criminal reference check required
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Good communication skills both oral and written
Ability to flex hours which could possibly include evenings or weekends
Positive and friendly attitude and is eager to learn about gardening & food security
