What was your first job?
Cashier/Stocker at a Dollar Store.

What advice would you give youth just starting out in the workforce?
Know that the door that opens may be the right door OR simply a step towards the next door to open. Experience it all and keep that genuine smile on your face.

What are you happiest doing outside of work?
I love spending time with my friends and family, doing anything outdoors and watching my son grow up.

What is your favourite aspect of working for LEAP?
My favorite thing about my job is the opportunity to work alongside my colleagues. They are always super motivated and inspire me daily.

What advice would you give youth just starting out in the workforce?
Always do more than what is expected of you and never assume you are unqualified for a position – there is no harm in trying!

What are you happiest doing outside of work?
I enjoy spending time outdoors and being with friends and family

What is your favourite aspect of working for LEAP?
Making connections in the community and working in a collaborative environment that allows me to express my creativity.

What was your first job?
Basketball Coach.

What advice would you give youth just starting out in the workforce?
Give it time. First days are hectic, overwhelming, and not always the most fun. Give yourself time to settle into a role, get to know your coworkers, and get into a rhythm before calling it quits.

What are you happiest doing outside of work?
You can usually find me in Minaki fishing and hanging out with friends.

What is your favourite aspect of working for LEAP?
That feeling when someone you’ve been working with gets the job that they’ve been working towards. To feel as if I’ve helped them reach a goal is the best feeling in the world. My coworkers are pretty awesome too.

What advice would you give youth just starting out in the workforce?
Don’t be scared to ask questions and talk to your employer.

What are you happiest doing outside of work?
I enjoy getting out on the lake and fishing.

I get to help people in the community with their job searching or education goals. It’s nice to be able to help build someone’s confidence in their work or help them gain new skills to get their first job.

I am happiest when I am outside with my dog!

The amazing staff collaboration, as well as seeing the smile on people’s faces when they leave knowing they made a great resume!
