Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:

  • Personal Care: Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, washroom, and hygiene.
  • Mobility & Safety: Aid with ambulation, transfers (using equipment like transfer boards), positioning, and fall prevention.
  • Nutrition: Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals, accommodating special diets; assist with feeding if necessary.
  • Household Support: Perform light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and bed making.
  • Companionship & Support: Provide emotional support, engage in activities, and foster independence.
  • Health Monitoring: Observe and report changes in physical/emotional/cognitive status, vital signs, and fluid intake/output.
  • Medication Assistance: Provide reminders and assist with administering non-sterile medications as delegated/instructed.
  • Documentation: Complete and maintain accurate daily records, communication logs, and incident reports.
  • Errands: Accompany clients on shopping trips or appointments as needed
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:

  • PSW Certification from an accredited program.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols (lifting, infection control).
  • Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to speak and understand Anishinaabemowin an asset.
  • Compassion, patience, and respect for client dignity and culture.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications or a willingness to obtain them.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
  • Must provide a criminal record check.
