We are looking for a childcare Administrator to join our team of committed professionals—this full-time position within Anishinaabe of Wauzhushk Onigum’ s childcare centre is located in the First Nation. Under the supervision of the Daycare Supervisor of Kinew Childcare Centre, the childcare Administrator is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day office operations and completing all clerical functions of the center.

Duties of this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Maintain children’s files and staff personnel records
  • Maintain financial vendor files manually and electronically
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, complete cheque requisitions
  • Complete bi-weekly payroll, process and submit remittances, issue ROE’s & T4’s,
  • Group Benefit and Pension administration
  • Maintain attendance records of children and staff
  • Complete and submit budget submissions and quarterly/year end financial reporting to all funders
  • Record all incoming/outgoing mail, answer phones and maintain logbook
  • Attend staff meeting, distribute agenda and record minutes
  • Keep inventory and replenish office supplies as needed
  • Provide coverage for breaks/lunches as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by Daycare Supervisor
Qualifications for this LEAP Job Posting:
  • Office Administration 2-year Diploma or 1 year Certificate
  • Up to date Immunizations Record
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR (Level C)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Anishinaabemowin communication skills are considered an asset)
  • Strong organization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiar with Accounting and Payroll software
  • Experience in a daycare setting
  • Solid knowledge of the Child Care & Early Years Act (CCEYA)
  • Knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards and code
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of all information and communications (oral and written) of Kinew Childcare Center, staff, students, volunteers, and the children in our care and their families
  • Knowledge of the Anishinaabe Traditions, Values, Culture and language
  • Current and satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
